Editorial Standards

These standards apply to everything The Innovators Den publishes on this website, in our app, on the podcast and on our social channels.

Den originals and Briefs

Den originals are reported, written and edited by The Innovators Den. They are the only stories we put forward for search engines and news aggregators.

Briefs are curated links to other publishers. A Brief shows the headline, a short summary, the publisher's name and a link to the full story at the source. Briefs are clearly labeled, we never republish the full text, and they are not submitted to search engines as our own work.

Sourcing and accuracy

  • We report first-hand whenever we can: at events, in venues and in interviews.
  • Facts, figures and quotes from other sources are attributed and, wherever possible, linked. Reported features end with a full list of sources.
  • When a story uses a composite character to show how a policy or trend affects people, we say so in the story.
  • Photos and illustrations are credited. Illustrations are labeled as illustrations.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by our editors. Sponsored content, paid placements and advertising are always clearly labeled as such and are kept separate from Den originals.

Our use of AI

We use AI tools to help with tasks such as transcription, research, translation drafts, image cleanup and screening the outside articles that become Briefs. AI does not publish on its own: every Den original is written or reviewed, checked and approved by an editor before it goes live, and an editor is responsible for its accuracy.

Opinion and advice

Opinion and analysis are labeled. Stories in Health, Law and Finance are for information only and are not medical, legal or financial advice.

Corrections

We fix errors quickly and openly. See our Corrections policy.
